HISTORICAL MONUMENTS OF TATA | THE MOST IMPORTANT HISTORICAL BUILDINGS IN TATA

Behind the human a number of exploits and urban facilities in the region, which shows the level of civilization and the circumstances of his life, and reflect the taste and the level of mind and thinking, and perhaps the most prominent of these facilities are as follows:

Old Cities:

The accounts of cities that have disappeared in different places in the region are known. Perhaps the most famous is the city of Tamdul, founded by Abdullah bin Idris in the fourth century AH near the present town of Aqa. The city flourished during the Almoravid, Almowhid and Marinien periods after it was a part of the Idrisid period. It has played a number of roles in the history of these civilizations. In the military sphere, its walls and towers served as a strategic military fortress and observation post for roads leading from and to south-eastern Morocco. In the economic sphere, it served as a trade link between Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa, which constituted an important station in the route of convoys arriving or coming from Sudan. Tamdult flourished, and benefited from its presence in a region rich in lead and silver, as a center for extracting the raw mineral material from neighboring mines and then manufacturing and selling it. Perhaps the vast number of mineral remains that cover the city's site is the largest proof of Tamdol's industrial role.Tamdolt has also been transformed by the abundance of its water and fertility of its land - which historians have reported during the period of its prosperity such as Bakri and Al-Watawat - to orchards and fields that have made it an important agricultural center.

Fortresses ( IGODAR " AMAZIGH LANGUAGE " ) :

These old buildings are collective warehouses built in the form of castles with towers, often consisting of several layers, and contain several rooms used by the families of the village to store their savings of grain or valuables such as jewelry and jewelry, and these fortresses are used for defensive purposes in case of an external attack . Some of them still exist today in some villages in the Territory, retaining some of their functions, as in the case of the tribes of the Isafn and Takmout communities.

Palaces, castles and towers:

The many conflicts between the tribes of the region in the past to acquire water and water resources have played an important role in the construction of many military buildings. Perhaps the most prominent of these:Palaces and marshes, which constitute an interesting aspect of the architecture of the province: They are fortified villages and houses, surrounded by relatively high walls interspersed with doors and towers built in accordance with the architecture. The buildings of the village are built inside the walls along narrow, sometimes narrow, or sometimes covered, or open corridors that end in the center of the village. This square is a space where people gather in the evening to perform folk dancing and singing, which is part of the way people live in the area. It should be noted that precious historical documents and manuscripts are kept in most of the corners and squares of the region. In addition to the fortified walls, some bays have surrounded themselves with deep trenches to obstruct the enemy's progress towards its walls, such as Takadirt Ognag in Titi village, the Addis group south of Tata.It also enhanced its protection by choosing a mountain-encircled site such as the Ait-Wabley group, and chose other ridge peaks to ensure greater protection, such as the Tdkost and Tizmart south of the Ait-Wabley group.
