A HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OF ROCK INSCRIPTIONS, AND SAME OF ITS PLACES IN TATA

Tisint village of Tata is administratively located 66 km to the town of Fum Zikid and Ouarzazate, in the middle of the Bani mountain range. It is characterized by its semi-dry climate and this is evidenced by its plants where it is available on palm trees and trees that are always suitable for the arid desert climate. In spite of its desolate land there is a presence of Wadi Al Ateeq, which is considered the main and only supplier of irrigation water, despite its salinity, which is added to extreme heat especially in the summer and cold in the winter. Added to this is the history of the region and its economic, scientific, religious, And the civilization of its inhabitants, which gave it an important and varied heritage.

History of the Tata area

The area of Tata is known as a place inhabited by humans from the foot before the degree of drought that we see now, but its history remains mysterious and unknown. If the person did not take the initiative to convey these facts by engraving all his views and beliefs on the rock.It is the most ancient rock inscriptions on Moroccan soil dating back to the end of the Stone Age and the beginning of the Neolithic period. And embodies the various aspects of daily life of man in that period. And the environment and climatic conditions that were different from what is prevalent today.

The location of Sidi Ali Oza is located 15 kilometers west of the village center. This site is full of many rock inscriptions. We hope that this will be the beginning of another research in the same subject, because it still requires research to be known and brought to life.
The issue of rock inscriptions in the Tsint Tata area is still a rarity. Inscriptions are a great and varied heritage, but their exploitation is still in dire need of study and continuous research, in order to find ways in which this ancient human heritage can be exploited.

The rock formations in the Tata region are always located in a few places (strategic areas - close to the Vallys), indicating that these areas were in the past playing a strategic role. They were often associated with water centers. Even in the period of stability later, researchers in this area have confirmed that the climate has shifted from a humid climate to a dry climate encompassing all desert regions, resulting in a large number of human and animal populations moving towards the north where climatic conditions were still viable, Which has hurt the formation of the M group The customs and traditions associated with this gathering, including the inscription on the rock.
