AKKA, THE HOME OF MULTIPLE ROCK INSCRIPTIONS

The variety of rock inscriptions in the region of Akka

The topics of rock inscriptions in the Akka region are similar in their broad lines to those of the other regional sites of rock inscriptions. Including images of animals and other images as symbols of what is understandable and what is vague:

Animal

Animals occupy the top position in the images carved in the region of Akka with their wild and wild animals. These animals are divided into several major factions, each with other minor factions, as follows:

Bovine species: This large species includes a variety of secondary species, including antelopes, which in turn include various varieties, including deer. And the secondary type of cattle is cattle and represented mainly in the inscriptions of an area of bull and buffalo, as is known to this point, and here we mention in particular the site "Adrar Um Takurin"However, the last minor species of the bovine family is the locally known oudad, but it is difficult to distinguish it in inscriptions.

Giraffes: This animal variety is also few in the inscriptions of the south of Morocco, especially the region of Aqa, but we have found one of the engraved paintings represent the giraffe at the location of " Tizonin Oum El Aelg ".

Dog species: Mainly the dog, jackal, fox and the first two species are the most prominent in the sites of rock inscriptions located in the region of Akka

the birds: The species present in the rock inscriptions are the ostrich, which is sometimes in the shape of a herd, and the large clowns, sometimes up to 110 centimeters in height.

Human

The human images in the rock inscriptions of the region of Akka few compared to the other images, which are small size between 10 and 20 cm, as these images are often located in the site "Tamkert Isardan" group Sidi Abdullah bin Mubarak Akka and then the site "Moarada in Umm Alaq." However, the observation that we can point to is the scarcity of human images that refer to the human race, especially the female gender in the studied area. However, there is one small model in the site of " Oum Tikorin".

Symbols

The symbols are many and varied, there are spiral shapes and circles and aids, in addition to the forms of fatigue and lines, labyrinths, slippers, and among the symbols also there are some inscriptions Amazigh - Tifinagh - but few.
